Monkey Town

The refurbishment and conversion of the former Yellow Sub venue at Brunswick Business Park, Liverpool, into Monkey Town. E2M delivered the scheme as main contractor, bringing building works and mechanical, electrical and HVAC coordination together.

The challenge

Adapting an existing leisure building meant working with retained systems while reconfiguring spaces for a new brand and customer experience. The project connected layout changes, new finishes and services across the front and back of house.

Our scope

• Main-contractor delivery and coordination of building and MEP works
• Internal alterations, including mezzanine wall removal and enclosure of the first-floor laser-tag room
• Safety barriers, carpet tiles and luxury vinyl tile flooring
• Reception counter and canopy joinery
• Monkey Town themed decoration
• New electrical submain distribution, boards, containment and lighting
• Hot and cold water services and drainage to customer and support areas
• Testing, certification and operation and maintenance handover

Bringing it together

The conversion combined alterations to the existing building with new customer-facing finishes and engineering installations. Handover information brought the installation details and test records together for the completed venue.
